August 2025 Update

Reaccreditation Success
Our team has a lot to celebrate this month! We had our reaccreditation site visit with PATH Intl. and scored 100%! We are so proud to be fully accredited and offer high quality equine assisted services to our community. Thank you so much to all of our staff, board members, volunteers, supporters, donors, and families for making this possible.
Renew In The News
This month also featured a mission highlight video from Susan Shaw and WOODTV8. We are so grateful that they chose to share Renew with our community.

Programming Updates
A few Renew students were able to participate in a local horse show this month. Getting to experience the excitement of competition, working towards a goal, and pushing through the nerves are just a small part of what makes these types of opportunities so beneficial. Everyone did a fabulous job!
A group of students from Upward Bound Ministries spent some time each week doing chores around the farm. They even arrived in style on one of their work visits! A very big thank you to these students for working hard and partnering the mission!
The month of August also saw the return of Speech Camp, Drill Team, Interactive Vaulting, and other special programs. Renew was also able to take part in Hope College’s volunteer fair, and we brought a very special friend along – Hamlet! Hamlet loved meeting all of the students and going on a field trip.

Corporate Events Provide a Unique, Transformative Experience
During the month of August, Renew was honored two host two special days of exploration, learning, and growth with a program called REAL, Renew Equine Assisted Learning. These hands on experiences provide corporate teams, nonprofits, community organizations, and groups a very unique learning experience that allows the opportunity to deepen work relationships, increase productivity, improve teamwork and determine strategy to reach organizational goals.
This program requires no previous horse experience. It is designed to be participant-led for those who are open to new learnings about themselves and others. The learning is kinesthetic and somatic, and there will are times built in for discussion, reflection and goal setting. It is not about horsemanship or riding … it is about strengthening your team.
A group of local leaders that participated in a program called Leading By Design came together for an afternoon of REAL in mid-August. And towards the end of the month Renew hosted the staff from the Howard Miller Library for a day of professional development as they participated in growth activities alongside the horses.
