April 2024 Update

Speech Therapy Changes Lives

In 2021, Renew began a partnership with Macauley Therapy Services to begin offering speech therapy with licensed speech/language pathologist Dr. Beth Macauley who has a well-deserved positive reputation for hippotherapy (Equine Assisted therapy).

By blending the stimulating multi-dimensional movement of the horse with speech and language therapy, breakthroughs for those facing communication challenges become possible. Hippotherapy is a unique, fast-growing service and an exciting addition to equine assisted services at Renew.

We were recently able to celebrate something tremendously special with one of our speech participants. Dawson has worked hard on his goals and, despite being told that he would probably need to be involved in speech therapy throughout elementary school, Dawson graduated from speech therapy years in advance! Way to go Dawson!!

Denim & Diamonds at the Derby

We are so grateful and humbled by your partnership!
Denim & Diamonds at the Derby is such a special event. Not because of anything we do, but because of everything you do. It is incredibly humbling to watch the Renew family pour their gifts into the mission and make it possible for people in our community to receive the life-changing services at Renew. Thank you for giving so selflessly and extravagantly!

And what a special time of fellowship and celebration! To gather together with the Renew family and celebrate the work that God is doing in and through Renew is always so wonderful. And to top it all off, we had the opportunity to celebrate Matthew, a therapeutic riding participant. Thank you, Fallon family, for sharing your story with all of us! We are so grateful for your courage to share so openly.

We’ve almost hit our fundraising goal!
The event ended nearly a week ago, but you haven’t stopped giving! We set a very lofty goal of raising $130,000 to help meet the operational needs of serving record numbers of participants each week on the farm…and we are so close! If this is something on your heart and you would like to give, you can do so online through our secure event platform by clicking the button below and making a donation.

Thank you to the many people and businesses that partnered with Renew to make Denim & Diamonds at the Derby such a success. Thanks to Raven Strategic Group, Andrea Hemmelgarn, Macatawa Bank, Barber Ford, deVries Photography, Horizon Roofing, Andrew Kinsler, and many more business who sponsored the event, provided services, and donated auction packages. Tulip Time Parade
Saturday, May 11 at 2:00P
Come out to Holland, enjoy the tulips, and say hi to your friends from Renew during the parade!

Hercules’ Retirement

Each month we invite everyone to come to the farm to renew and refresh during unstructured time with our equine ministry partners during an event we call Hug A Horse. Those that came in April were treated to something extra special as we also got to celebrate our friend Hercules’ retirement. Herc’s friends spoiled him with love and treats, and he gratefully soaked it all up. Thank you for helping us celebrate what a gift Herc was to many at Renew!

Student Spotlight

Each year we get the privilege of highlighting a Renew student and putting together a video. These videos teach us so much about compassion, resilience, renewal, and hope. Each one is inspirational and so beautiful. At this year’s Denim & Diamonds at the Derby we revealed the newest video that celebrates Matthew and his family. Take a minute to watch Matthew’s story and prepare to be inspired!
