January 2022 Update
As Shaina prepares to welcome Baby Strikwerda into their family we want to communicate some changes in staffing.
During Shaina’s maternity leave, Jael Ymker, our Volunteer Coordinator, will be stepping in as the Interim Program Manager and will be using Shaina’s email (programs@renewtrc.org) so that there should be a seamless transfer of communication.
You may also have noticed Teresa Harrington, a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, has stepped in to cover Shaina’s lessons on Monday nights and is also working on Saturday mornings. Teresa is a long-time friend of Renew and it is wonderful to have her officially as an Instructor as we expand programming in 2022.
Welcome, Siobhan
One of our very own dedicated volunteers, Siobhan McManus, will be joining the team as the Interim Volunteer Coordinator and will be working with Jael to learn the systems in place for managing volunteers. Siobhan will be using what is currently Jael’s email (volunteer@renewtrc.org).
We are very excited to welcome Siobhan in this new role!
Program Updates
It’s hard to believe that we’ve already completed three weeks of therapeutic riding lessons at Renew in 2022. We are so blessed to be able to add the option for students to take part in Saturday lessons. Students from local schools have also had the opportunity to spend some time at the farm learning about the various aspects of equine care and the equine assisted services provided at Renew.
If you’ve been to the farm lately you may have noticed some new friends that have joined the herd. Read all about our new partners in ministry on the previous blog post.
If you would like to learn more about new ways to plug in and volunteer, we are always looking for caring people to join the Renew family. We will be having a Volunteer Orientation on the second Saturday of every month. The orientation is a great way to learn about the different volunteer roles and see what might be a good fit for your interests and schedule. We’ll meet in the farmhouse beginning at 11:00. Take a look at the calendar for up to date information and details on how to RSVP. We hope to see you then!
New Website Coming Soon
Renew’s website is under construction at the moment and we’re excited to unveil the changes very soon. We’re busy sprucing it up and adding exciting new content that will be a great resource for our community. Whether you’re a student, volunteer, or just interested in learning more about the ways equine assisted services can impact our lives, you will be able to find it all here.
Would you be willing to take a minute to share your thoughts and opinions with us? This survey will only take about two minutes and it would be oh so helpful to us as we plan how to communicate with you as best and most effectively as we can. Thank you!
