Our History

In 2009, a group of people saw that West Michigan, specifically the Holland area, had a need for a therapeutic equine program.

Founded as A Touch of Hope and Healing, Amy Stewart, Jodi Geerlings, and Heidi Dekraker filed Articles of Incorporation with the State of Michigan and began offering therapeutic riding lessons at a local farm.

In 2010, the program moved to leased facilities at the Rusty Spurs Ranch and changed its name to Renew Therapeutic Riding Center. The name, Renew, was inspired by Isaiah 40:31: “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
